Accountant
We are looking for an Accountant to be a servant leader and to take responsibility for all accounting responsibilities and processes for our companies and interest(s). The Ideal candidate has a servant’s heart, loves people, is hungry, humble, and people smart, is not easily offended, and listens to understand.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
· Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting preferred.
· At least 2 years of relevant experience as an accountant.
· Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
· Skilled in use of QuickBooks Pro.
· Skilled in use of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
· Fluently speak, read, and write English.
· Skilled in time management.
· Skilled in multi-tasking.
· Ability to learn and perform primary functions of positions within department.
· Ability to manage stress.
· Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to: walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, transporting supplies or equipment, sitting for extended periods of time at a desk using a computer, and occasionally lifting and carrying items which may weigh up to 25 pounds.
· Position spends approximately 90% of time sitting at a desk and 10% standing or walking.
· Vision and hearing must be within or correctable to within normal range.
· Must work from the corporate office and be able to work on time on a regular basis during regular business hours.
· While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is exposed to computers and general office equipment at various times. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Responsible for accounting operations, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”) and other relevant standards, including:
Accounting policies and procedures
Design and operation of internal control system
Daily activities of accounting department
Implementation of new accounting rules and standards
Produce timely monthly financial statements compliant with GAAP
Successful and timely completion of financial and other audits.
· Ensures compliance with debt agreements, including timely submittal of certifications and reports.
· Produces monthly reporting and analysis package, budgets, forecasts, and ad hoc analysis.
· Manages the standard costing system, including creation of standard costing rates, system input and maintenance and analyzes variances.
· Responsible for tax compliance for local, state, and federal agencies, including:
Supports modeling of estimated taxable income
Supports production of state and federal income tax returns
Maintains a comprehensive checklist of all tax related compliance requirements.
Coordinates with outside CPA firm or others.
Manages audits and information requests.
· Oversees the configuration of accounting structures and flows within QB, including:
General ledger controls structure
Standard cost update process
Maintenance checklist
Reports to extract data
Maintains the chart of accounts
· Establishes and implements short- and long-range departmental goals.
Oversees cash accounts and related activity, including:
Maintains bank accounts and related online systems
Monitors cash balances daily moving cash among accounts and lines of credit as needed
Initiates outbound wire transfer and ACH transactions
· Determines sales compensation payments ensuring compliance with bonus and commission plans.
· Participates with management in setting the culture, setting strategy, and advancing the mission of the company.
· Supports continuous improvement of controls, procedures, and operations activity
· Demonstrates independent thinking and initiative on a consistent and regular basis.
· Exercises discretion and independent judgment on significant matters including coaching, pay changes and investigations.
· Provides guidance to Team when needed or directs them to the appropriate personnel.
· Performs in a manner consistent with company Core Values and Purpose.
· Attends all scheduled meetings, missing no more than 10% annually.
· Manages any stress on the job, including but not limited to meeting deadlines.
· Maintains strictest confidentiality.
· Provides excellent customer service, for both internal and external customers.
· Actively demonstrates teamwork at all times.
· Follows policies and procedures such that there are no verbal or written warnings during the evaluation period.
