H&J Petroleum was founded with the purpose of providing management, consulting and education services to the oil & gas industry. H&J’s three founders are degreed engineers who have served the oil & gas industry for over 40 years. H&J Petroleum was established with the goal of becoming recognized as an industry leader in upstream project management, technical expertise, and field supervisory services.

 Matt Hood | President

Matt Hood is the President and a Founding Partner of H&J Petroleum Management & Consulting. Matt is equipped with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University and has almost a decade of experience providing consulting and management service to the oil & gas industry. He has performed in various positions, from wellsite supervision to project manager, with continually increasing levels of responsibility. As President and Founding partner, Matt provides much of the vision of the company through his experience and knowledge of the industry.

Nick Hood | Vice President

Nick Hood serves as Vice President for H&J. Nick is a Texas Tech graduate with a degree in Engineering. He has a high level of proficiency in the Oil & Gas field and has served the industry for over 35 years. Nick is experienced in most all facets of engineering and management and has worked mostly for Exploration & Production companies. He also operates as a Project Manager, serving his clients with a range of skills, focused mostly in production. Nick’s valuable experience goes before him and he has established a lifelong reputation of an unmatched work ethic and unbending integrity.
