A word from H&J's President
The third quarter of 2015 just might be one of the most significant in H&J’s short history. At the beginning of June, we started actively searching for the right individual to help lead our company through the role of Business Development Manager. The decision to do so was not something that Michael, Nick nor I took lightly, as we hoped to insure our mutual success as much as possible. Challenging that decisions throughout the quarter, we heard of continued layoffs in our industry and found ourselves swimming upstream once again. However, the Lord continue to bring us peace in our decision and we decided just today on who we would like to fill that position. We had so many qualified applicants and everyone we talked to showed tremendous potential. I want to personally thank everyone who took the time to apply and talk with us. We wish we had opportunities for each and every one of you. When everything becomes official I hope to give you more details about this individual but needless to say we are very excited about what the future holds for all of us.
During the third quarter, we also had the opportunity to add an engineering tech to our team during the third quarter. Rebecca Bajgier recently moved here from Utah with her husband Boone. Rebecca is a 2012 graduate of Texas A&M. She joined our team in late September and is already making big contributions in our engineering department. We are also looking to add a couple of other members to our team in the near future to bolster our Delaware Basin efforts in the form of a drilling engineer and a completions engineer. While I believe we have identified the right person for the drilling engineer position, we are actively seeking to fill the contract completions engineer position. If you or someone you know might be interested check out our webpage dedicated to that position.
H&J also held our first ever client and vendor appreciation tailgate in Lubbock, TX at the Texas Tech Vs TCU game. Our second and final tailgate of the year will happen on Halloween when Tech takes on Oklahoma State. If you missed our first event, be sure to join us October 31st. We will have food, drinks, and TV for watching all the great college football action going on. Similarly, be sure to check out our company pages on Facebook and LinkedIn to keep up with all the latest news and events.
H&J realizes that none of this would be possible except through the Jesus Christ who is our provider and would like to thank him for leading us through this amazing journey. We know that our industry and individuals face difficult times. I have worried at times if the oil & gas industry will continue to provide for my own family I have found ultimate comfort in Matthew 6:25-34 25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
